Food here is good! We always pick up a gallon of Gumbo during the holidays to feed the family. The catfish is always fried perfect with the filets cut not too thin or thick. I just wish they were open more often. They are only open 3 days. :-/ On Friday nights you get a treat with live bluegrass music. I recommend going that night! Enjoy.....

Just bad all the way around. Gave a second star for the manager being polite about comping my entree. Seriously though I will not go back. It's called catfish point for a reason. Don't order anything else but that and only fried. It's the only thing that is just ok. I had the swamp potato and the seafood that was in it smelled bad and tasted worse. The grilled platter was over cooked and dry just bad with no flavor or sauce. It seems like a lot they serve is pre made frozen things. Onion rings was horrible. Given we were a big group so it's possible it could have been a little better if it didn't have to sit but I still can't imagine it would be much better. The live music was nice.

I must express my great disappointment. What has happened to this place. It has been quite sometime since I have been to catfish point, but my family decide to splurge and enjoy some seafood. I ordered the seafood platter and the only thing that was worth eating was the cup of gumbo, the coleslaw and the small hushpuppies. The shrimp they serve is like popcorn shrimp. The oysters were very small and fishy tasting. The crab claws were dry and from the smallest crabs imaginable. The two fish fillets were small and over breaded. The crabby patty...well, I wasn't sure what that was, but it was awful. Bottom line, it was pretty bad. And the worst part was that I dropped a 20 for it! My daughter got the fried shrimp plate, and she got a plate full of pale popcorn shrimp. I guess the lack of patrons on a Friday night should have been a red flag. Like I said, it had been a while since I had last been. Perhaps they had changed management or something. Regardless, I won't be returning. This place used to be great! I recommend the Boiling Pot in Mobile.

When you name yourself catfish point, you have to get catfish to test them out. I was impressed with the catfish, it was not the best I have had but it falls in the top 5 out of 100's that I been to. The bluegrass band made this review better since I try to pick the banjo from time to time. If you can go there when they are open it is worth the effort.
